Zara McDermott: Sexism in Schools

In this film, Zara McDermott explores the outpouring of anger and emotion from young girls and women to the reported rape culture that exists in schools and colleges.

Zara uses Instagram to discover the thoughts of her followers; the results are shocking with many girls sharing their experiences of assault or harassment at school.  Why is this happening and what can be done?  Zara embeds herself in a school to see for herself.

Trying to find answers, she talks to both perpetrators and victims.  She meets the 22 year old who set up the anonymous website 'Everyone's Invited' to expose rape culture in schools which has received thousands of reports of unwanted sexual assault and violence.  She also has privileged access to the coordinated police response Operation Hydrant to see what, if anything, can be done.
