C21 Media: Drive motors to Cannes with royals

UK-based production funding and distribution agency Drive will launch three new documentaries about the UK’s royal family and an eight-part talkshow at MipTV next week.

Commissioned by TrueRoyalty TV, the royalty-themed SVOD platform launched last year in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the shows will be produced by UK indie Spun Gold TV.

The three documentaries are Meghan & Harry: Bringing Up Baby (working title, 1×60’), Meghan Markle: Inside the Wardrobe of a Princess (1×60’) and Inside Royal Homes (1×60’). The 8×30’ chatshow will be called The Royal View.

Drive recently sold the Oxford Films series Queen of the World to air across 88 countries, including on NHK in Japan, Virgin Media Television in Ireland and Yes DBS in Israel.

It also distributes Oxford Films’ Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, Invitation to a Royal Wedding, A Very Royal Wedding, The Queen’s Coronation in Colour and Spun Gold TV’s Meghan & Harry: The Next Chapter.
