Trident: Britain’s Top Secret Nuclear Weapon


For the first time in 50 years, cameras have been granted access to a British ‘Vanguard’ class Trident nuclear submarine as it prepares to go on patrol. Presenter Rob Bell is shown around the 13,000 ton vessel before a Russian warship causes the submarine to perform an emergency dive. Then, for the first time on television, we witness the test firing of a Trident nuclear missile. After exploring the nuclear reactor and propulsion system, the film crew are woken to a real-life emergency in the engine room that threatens to end the entire mission before it’s actually begun…
